About Kari
Kari Twyman (she/her) is a passionate performer, choreographer, director, and educator currently based in Atlanta, GA. Since earning her BFA in Musical Theatre from Brenau University in 2018, Kari has become a vibrant part of the Atlanta regional theatre scene, lending her talents to theaters like Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Aurora Theatre, Theatrical Outfit, Jennie T Anderson, Wallace Buice Theatre Company, Theatre Buford, and many more.

Kari’s choreography work has been featured at well-known Atlanta theaters like Aurora Theatre, Buiceintennial Productions, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, and others. Highlights include co-choreographing The Georgia Musical Theatre Awards in 2022 and 2023 — then stepping up as the sole choreographer for the 2024 and 2025 Shuler Awards (GHSMTA). Kari also champions musical theatre education through choreography in several Northeast Georgia high schools, as well as surrounding collegiate programs like Kennesaw State University and Georgia Gwinett College. Recently, Kari discovered a new creative passion for directing. She launched this exciting chapter with Buiceintennial Productions’ Somebody To Love back in 2021, a heartfelt tribute to Freddie Mercury. Since then, she directed and choreographed Guys and Dolls (2023), and then Footloose (2025) at Players Guild at Sugar Hill. She also directed and choreographed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2024) at The Gainesville Theatre Alliance, her alma mater. Looking ahead, Kari is excited to return to direct and choreograph Sister Act in the fall of 2025.
Education fuels Kari’s heart just as much as performance. With over seven years of freelance theatre teaching under her belt, she’s led masterclasses, built musical theatre curriculums, and choreographed for young performers across schools like The Westminster Schools, Lakeview Academy, Buford High School and many more. Kari is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musical theatre storytellers, spreading joy, kindness, and creativity every step of the way.
